Snow White — International Key Art and Experiential Campaign Creative for Disney Studios

how it came together

The Refinery created international key art, immersive fan experiences, in-theater activations, photo moments, environmental graphics, and experiential campaign pieces for Disney Studios’ Snow White, helping turn the film’s fairy-tale world into physical spaces audiences could enter, explore, and photograph.

The challenge

Snow White arrived with one of the most recognizable stories in Disney history. That familiarity is powerful, but it also creates a specific creative challenge: the campaign had to honor a beloved fairy tale while making the new theatrical release feel immediate, dimensional, and discoverable for modern audiences.

The work needed to travel across global markets, fan events, theatrical environments, and immersive spaces without losing the storybook magic at the center of the title. The campaign could not only show audiences the world of Snow White. It had to give them a way inside it.

The idea

The Refinery approached the Snow White campaign as a storybook that could open in different places.

For international key art, that meant adapting the campaign visually across Europe, Latin America, China, and Korea while preserving the film’s fantasy, character, and theatrical appeal. For experiential and in-theater work, it meant translating the world of Snow White into physical touchpoints: a giant book entrance, fully designed rooms, mirror moments, archways, elevator environments, escalator wraps, and in-theater photo opportunities.

The connective idea was simple: let the fairy tale become something audiences could move through.

More than a poster. More than a media placement.

A doorway.

What The Refinery made

International key art — Campaign adaptations for Europe, Latin America, China, and Korea, maintaining fairy-tale tone and theatrical scale across markets.

D23 Brazil immersive story corner — A fan-facing environment built for engagement, photos, and campaign world-building at a major Disney fan event.

The Enchanted Escape experiential popup — An escape-room-style experience where guests entered through a giant storybook and moved through four fully designed rooms.

Bus shelter creative — Theatrical campaign extensions into public space.

Elevator skins — Exterior door and interior environment executions that transformed a transitional space into part of the campaign world.

Escalator wrap and panel graphics — In-theater environmental graphics extending the campaign through the moviegoing environment.

Bathroom mirror decals — In-theater placements meeting audiences in spaces they naturally moved through before and after the film.

Interactive photo moments — A “Fairest of Them All” magic mirror box, a “Magic Mirror” moment, and three custom archways designed for fans to pass through and photograph.

Production, finishing, and delivery — Production artwork, versioning, finishing, and final delivery across all international and experiential assets.

Why it worked

The Snow White campaign worked because the physical pieces did not feel separate from the story. They felt like extensions of it.

A giant book became an entrance. Mirrors became interactive campaign moments. Archways became photo opportunities. Elevator skins and escalator wraps turned ordinary theater spaces into part of the environment. The D23 Brazil story corner gave fans a place to step into the world. The Enchanted Escape turned the campaign into a journey with rooms, movement, and discovery.

That matters for a title like Snow White, where the audience already knows the emotional architecture of the story. The campaign did not need to explain the fairy tale from scratch. It needed to make the world feel close enough to enter.

The work also supported different audience behaviors. Some pieces were built for global campaign recognition. Some were built for fan events. Some were built for moviegoers already inside the theatrical environment. Some were built for photos, social sharing, and participation.

Together, the work gave Snow White a campaign presence that felt international, theatrical, and tangible.

A fairy tale, but with better foot traffic.
